Jackson Family

Five years ago two sisters spoke during the final days of one of their life. The dying sister asked for a promise to be made. Her sister was asked to look after her 10 children after her death. The house that this family lived in didn't exist and they spent their time moving from hotel to hotel. So there was nothing to bulldoze! The 15 people shared 3 rooms which were scattered throughout the hotel. The play area that the boys played in was the hotel car park, so they had to deal with cars during their playtime.

The team were able to build a house that everyone could live in, sufficient space for the children to do their homework, a kitchen table that they could all sit at together. The work that went into the house was as usual incredible. There was a great deal of crying, again tears of joy.

The family were sent to Disney World, during their holiday the design team went to visit the local community centre where the children spend their evenings after school. Because they live in a hotel, they can't return home until their Mum / Aunt has returned from work. So to have a homework area built in the home was an incredible bonus for them.

The community centre was provided with educational materials as they rely heavily on donations and need a great deal of resources to keep the community centre running.

This programme highlights the importance of family and the great joy that giving from the heart brings.
